B.M. (Before Massage)....Growing up, as a daughter of an important business man who worked for Union Carbide, I had the privledge of moving around a bit. I lived in Texas a few places, Puerto Rico, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania (for art school). In 1989, I got my Associates Degree in Commercial Art from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Afterwhich I moved back to West Virginia, and we all moved back to Texas. They went to Victoria, I decided to come back to Houston, to "start life".
I dabbled in the art field a while, falling love with painting murals. Being an animal lover I also supplemented my income with jobs in the animal care field. I worked in pet shops, boarding kennels, vet offices, and a few horse stables (I'm one of those "horse-nuts"!) During this time I met my husband and had 2 wonderful children.
Fast forward to 2006...I decided to get a new career that would help out in our now future plans of moving to Hawaii. Massage therapy was the answer! I'm a "people-pleaser", and love to make people feel better. Massage and Hawaii seems to be a good fit too!
So I joined Avalon School of Massage, run by Randy Greer, a most wonderful person and teacher! I loved school and formed a new "family" there. I recieved my license in Febuary of 2007. Now I am well on my way to making my dreams come true! I hope YOU will be a part of that!
THE FUTURE....
....Is very bright indeed! Although I have several CEUs under my belt already, I plan on taking many more. My strongest modality that I enjoy the most is chair massage! I am very happy to finally have my own business with several therapists ready to step into the jobs I find. I really believe that chair massage is the most friendly, comfortable way for people to get to know massage. It can be done anywhere, anytime and people are much more willing to sit down fully clothed in public than to be nude behind closed doors. They can stand by and watch someone recieving a chair massage to see what will happen during the session, canceling out that fear of the unknown! It is also very affordable, and it does you a lot of good (see my chair massage info page!). I am looking forward to developing this business in the years to come. I hope I can include YOU in my future! Have a Healthy-Wealthy Day!
